How can the best player in the Premier League last year, one of the anchors of the Israeli team, an example and role model for a professional, not find a place in the worst team in the Italian league?

Italian League Summary: Venice - Juventus 2: 1 (Sport 1)

This week there was talk in the Italian media that this is one of the worst seasons when it comes to bottom struggles in Serie A. A bit similar to what is happening this season in the Premier League, the rate of accumulation of points in the last four is disgraceful. Points for a team that stays in the league.

Out of this general weakness, the little that should be enough to survive - Venice stands out badly.

Dor Peretz's team closes the table with a poor balance of 22 points from 34 games including a single point in the last 10 games.

On Thursday, she meets Sleranitana who is three points above her (and still below the red line).

Loss and even a draw and it will be possible to fold the equipment on the way back to Serie B. Dor Peretz mostly watched from the sidelines in the crash.

He did not get enough opportunities to get into things and in fact hardly played, but the problematic bottom line just shouts to heaven: the best player in the Premier League last year, the car player in the Israeli team, an example and role model for his professional, does not find a place in the worst team in Italy.

You know, it shows more about Israeli football than about Peretz himself.

What will be the next step for Peretz if and when Venice goes down?

One thing is for sure, Maccabi Tel Aviv is waiting for him with open arms.

It's hard to explain how Venice Bay's enthusiasm dropped so quickly.

At the beginning of the training and also in the preparation games, there were voices of enthusiasm from the club about the ability of the connection.

Peretz felt good, but coach Paolo Zanti stopped trusting him too quickly.

"I remember going to Groningen in August to watch our training match against the local team," said Manuel Boscolo, a Venetian-born fan who lives in Amsterdam.

"It was clear how slow his game was. He has good legs, but he was repeatedly overtaken and he lost balls. I thought maybe he was tired from the preparation. My feeling is that the coach stopped trying with him too quickly."

Peretz opened in the opening round in Naples.

Venice played this game 68 minutes with a numerical advantage and were happy to lose only 2: 0.

Gili Vermouth saw the game at home, recalling his Kaiserslautern 10 years ago and tweeting: "Hope for Dor Peretz it will end differently."

This week he said: "See that they are not level and that this is a team that can go down in the league in November. I saw a collection of players not good enough and in such a professional situation it is difficult for a player to express himself. "In Italy, he probably needs something beyond. Of course, the team did not help him and everything around him did not help him."

Peretz did not really get chances and unfortunately in the few good games at the beginning of the season he did not take part.

Venice achieved its first victory - 1: 2 in Ampoli - without it.

Also in the second victory, 0: 1 against Fiorentina, and in the third, the 2: 3 home win over Roma, he was not on the field.

Zanti saw that he was doing better without him and as mentioned, gave up.

A forgotten burst.

"In the local media there are stories about games where he showed sparks, some good dedication, game vision, pressure or in short - the familiar Dor Peretz, but Zanti

saw mostly the loss of the ball and the player he tagged as not ready enough for these levels."

But the reality is that Zanti simply held on more than the players who came after him: American Gianluca Bossio, who was bought from Kansas City for six million euros, Ethan Empedo on loan from Chelsea and Mikael Quizens, who arrived in January from Bayern Munich for four million euros. Clear trust in Peretz.

Forget the exploding headlines in the summer.

Peretz was one of 21 acquisitions added by Venice in the summer and January.

The vast majority of them came from outside Italy and had no experience in Serie A. This was a strategic mistake.

In the situation that arose, there was not too much time to let anyone acclimatize.

Did not prove yourself fast?

Pushed to the end of the rotation.

Cruel and simple.

Venice spread compliments on Peretz, but at the same time brought in a lot of link players and did not wait a second for him.

Zanti continued to switch between the trio in the center of the field until he found those who put him in confidence.

Until February, when business was still relatively stable, Venice ran with the coach's players.

Then, came a free fall.

Peretz has made 14 league appearances this season.

Two of them in the lineup, the last in the fifth round.

Only in two games in which a partner Venice won: 0: 1 in Bologna (entered in the 80th minute) and 1: 2 in Turin (entered in the 78th minute).

Precisely after that game in February, Peretz went into the freezer and did not play for two months.

During this time, he saw a group collapse systems.

Loss after loss after loss.

Nine in a row.

Point from 30.

One week ago, after the eighth loss, Zanti was fired.

The fans were actually angry with the management.

They gathered outside the club offices and exclaimed, "We demand respect. We will not forget who made history. Thank you, Mister."

"The team was not built properly," Buscolo explains.

"The club has probably forgotten that first of all we need a strong bunch of players who comfort each other. The team from last season was disbanded and the coach stayed to try to connect good players who do not communicate with each other. It is quite clear that from January / February .

According to local journalists, Zanti has lost the locker room and the trust of some of the players, but above all the team just is not good enough for the league.

As everywhere on the globe, a collection of players brings no results.

Andrea Sonchin, who previously coached the youth team, took the reins.

Peretz got 26 minutes from him as a substitute in the 2: 1 loss to Juventus - his most since the end of November - he even cooked up the temporary equalizer.

Definitely a positive memory from a troubled season, but Venice have lost again and now they are coming to a game from which there is no way back.

Few people around the club believe in the chances of staying.

Went to Europe too late?

What next?

"Moving to Europe, the first season is critical," Vermouth claims.

"Once you've made a good first season, you can stay for years because there's where to get off. 'If you fail at first stop, where do you have to go?".

Peretz will not be the first Israeli to be relegated in Europe, but the issue of the first year is problematic.

In this context, Peretz is closer to the case of Itai Schechter and Vermouth in Kaiserelsautern 10 years ago than to his uncle Awat or Tomer Hemed.

But here another question arises: what has happened in recent years that an Israeli player has not been able to make the leap directly from Israel to one of the top leagues without a stopover.

The answer is probably that the gaps have widened.

We went back.

Our league is much less good than it used to be and also much less counted by sports executives and scouts across the continent.

This is especially noticeable when it comes to a burst.

A player who is the opposite of the stigmas about the lazy Israeli footballer who does not acclimatize, misses home and despairs quickly.

It did not burst.

"He's the most professional in the world," Vermouth compliments.

"Training, nutrition, gym, it's one that every player has to learn from how to behave. He keeps himself at the level of Cristiano, always giving 100 percent and committed."

Peretz came out too late and not to the right place, but he is the one who puts a mirror in front of our faces.

The reality is that no matter how dominant you are in our league, if you get stuck in it for too long - you will have a hard time getting out of it.

Avi Luzon understood that.

Manor Solomon and Liel Abda understood this.

The association understands that frames need to be found for 19-year-olds to play every week.

To Europe one leaves early for a place from which one can advance.

This is not to say that Peretz has failed or is capable of just being a star in the country.

Definately not.

It just means that especially for players like him, at 26, going to Europe must start somewhere that will help you get into the rhythm.

Peretz's contract will be canceled in the event of a relegation, Maccabi Tel Aviv is waiting, but he is not currently giving up on the dream.

Vermouth advises: "It's all a question of alternatives and if you do not succeed in the first year, it is difficult to find such. If a large middle-class team comes to Europe like Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands or Belgium it should go. Will want to get it.

It is important to remember that unlike quite a few legionnaires who were in his condition and lost their place in the squad or went down to the bench in the national team, Willy Rotensteiner kept him loyal and went with him in the squad.

Teams will see a player who played 90 minutes each game on the team.

It can help him find a team outside of Israel in the summer. "
