The task is difficult: FC Penzberg travels to leaders Oberweikertshofen with great personnel worries.

Nevertheless, the Penzberger are in good spirits.

Penzberg - home hui, away pfui: The games of FC Penzberg in the past few weeks can be reduced to this simple denominator.

While things were going very well at home at the Nonnenwald Stadium – apart from the 2-0 defeat last Saturday against second-placed Denklingen – FCP are having a hard time abroad after the winter break, especially when they play in Munich.

Against FC Kosova (2:4), Haidhausen (2:3) and Neuperlach (2:6), coach Martin Wagner's men each went away empty-handed.

However, it is very doubtful whether Penzberger can improve their weak away record at SC Oberweikertshofen this Saturday (4 p.m.).

The SCO leads the table and can take a big step towards the championship with a home win against the Wagner team.

"They'll go full throttle, but we're looking forward to the game," assures Wagner, who currently rates Oberweikertshofen as the best team in the southern district league.

"After so many games, the table doesn't lie, they're not there for nothing," Wagner has the utmost respect for the home side.

However, the prerequisites for his team to cause a surprise are anything but ideal.

"Our team is currently setting itself up," said Wagner in view of the long list of failures, which now also includes Maximilian Berwein (back problems) and Erduan Abdyli (Corona).

Some long-term injuries are back in running training, "but we don't want to take any risks in our table situation," says Wagner.

His team is secure in midfield, so there's no need for experimentation.

"But we still have a good team that can beat SCO," Wagner sees his men, who are dying for revenge after the 3-1 defeat in the first leg, not without a chance.

All-rounder Sepp Siegert joins the team again, as does Maximilian Grünzinger, who is new to the season for the first time.

"Our squad is not big with 13 men, but we still want to trip up the favorites," says Wagner optimistically, which is also quite legitimate in view of the away successes that FCP have had outside of Munich with top teams like Raisting or Wolfratshausen .
