FC Schwaig is going to FC Unterföhring tonight for the top game of the 32nd matchday in the Landesliga Southeast.

The game starts at 7.30 p.m. in the Sportpark Isarau.

Schwaig

– Somehow you can already hear from the hosts that they have a unique selling point with their “grandstand built crookedly to the square”.

There are about 150 covered seats, but they won't be enough this time.

When asked about the predominantly modest response of 30 to 100 spectators at home games, department head Zivan Zivanovic says that people have gotten used to it: "Two relegations from the regional and Bavarian leagues in the last three years are one of the reasons for the decline in spectators."

The fact that things can be done differently was shown in the 2-2 game against Karlsfeld in mid-March, when the number of spectators had soared to 200.

This time, players and officials advertise the hit game in a video clip.

Non-Föhringers will come in droves, because the Schwaiger fans are known for their love of travel.

Even from Allershausen some have announced, player-coach Ben Held found out in his hometown.

Second in the table against third in the table: Unterföhring simply cannot shake off the cheeky climber Schwaig.

Sportfreunde are three points behind.

With the 7:3 victory in the first leg, the FCU should at least have secured the direct comparison.

"We were 3-2 up at the break and then couldn't recover from a quick equalizer in a bad second half," Held recalls the first duel.

"We only reformulated our goal of promotion during the course of the season," says Zivanovic.

In view of the many newcomers with experience from the Bayernliga to the 3rd division, that should have been the goal from the start.

"They have the pressure, not us, and they should actually be where Erlbach is," says Schwaig's coach.

"And if Unterfoehring doesn't win, things will remain exciting."

He also has personnel worries: "Many of us weren't in training this week because some were ill."
