It wasn't meant to be for the Bender twins.

TSV Brannenburg clearly lost the top game against Schloßberg on Wednesday and remains in the district class.

Brannenburg - It was the last chance for TSV Brannenburg.

On Wednesday, Hans Nietzold's team had to compete with the leader.

The hosts from TSV Schloßberg had 42 points on their account, the guests 34. Without the Bender twins there was nothing to be gained in the top game in the end.

Tim Scherfl, Stefan Feicht with an own goal and Bastian Seher created clear conditions in favor of the table leader in the floodlit game.

Things didn't go well for Brannenburg in the second half of the season.

In eight games there was only one win at ASV Flintsbach, a draw in the top game against second-placed SpVgg Pittenhart and six defeats.

In contrast to the preliminary round, in which Sven Bender was still regularly in action.

TSV only had to accept a defeat when the seven-time national player was on the field.

TSV Brannenburg: Sven Bender still without a mission in 2022 - Lars cannot stop the downward trend

Brother Lars was deployed five times after the winter break.

But even the longtime ex-captain of Bayer Leverkusen could not stop the downward trend.

In the 0:5 in Söchtenau last Saturday and on Wednesday, the 256-time Bundesliga player was also missing from the Brannenburger squad.

Although the hoped-for promotion at their home club did not materialize in their first season after retiring from professional football, the two silver medal winners from Rio will in all likelihood make a new attempt in the coming season.

Or not?

As reported by “die blaue24”, the twins were spotted on Grünwalder Straße on Thursday and speculation is once again being made about a comeback for the lions.

Will the two ex-stars do that to themselves and their bodies again?

The two 33-year-olds played 13 of a possible 22 games in the district class.

Sven Bender has not played for Brannenburg this year.
