Lions want to stop Waldbüttelbrunn
Anzing - The color red - at least fans of FC Bayern, lipstick manufacturers and the heads of Coca Cola, McDonald's and Co. are convinced of this - is the color of success.
And that's exactly what the people in charge at SV Anzing obviously rely on.
Because they have called on the fans of the Bavarian handball league to appear in red for the home game this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. against DJK Waldbüttelbrunn.
"We want to set up the red wall in the stands," says coach Hubert Müller.
This should also motivate his team, which should hardly be necessary given the starting position.
Because the home duel in the Vinzenz-Fröschl-Halle and the away game the day before at 5.30 p.m. in Waldbüttelbrunn are probably crucial in these Bayernliga playoffs for the fight for the championship and the associated ticket for the 3rd division.
Lower Franconia are three points ahead of the lions
Lower Franconia have the better starting position.
They are three points ahead of the lions in the table and if they win two, they could already celebrate promotion on Sunday – one game day before the end.
At the start of the playoffs, the DJK won twice against the SG Regensburg, but the Anzinger handball players also knew how to convince twice with their safe 28:22 and 28:19 wins over the TSV Lohr.
“Waldbüttelbrunn is a number in itself.
They have 14, 15 players who have all played at a higher level," says Hubert Müller, who looks after the SVA together with Kay Hoffman.
According to the coach, the opponent is "physically and individually strong, very experienced and clever".
But, as Müller's video study also revealed: "You have people who are not fully trained - and that can perhaps be a target for attack."
Löwen this time with the best cast
In terms of personnel, the Anzinger Löwen are expected to have the best players.
Only behind youngster Sebastian Felber, who twisted his ankle in training, is there a question mark.
"We have to go to our limits against Waldbüttelbrunn," demands Coach Müller.
The spectators and the red wall in the stands of the Vinzenz-Fröschl-Halle, where a particularly large number of women should be standing this time, should help his team on Sunday.
Because on the occasion of Mother's Day, the SVA gives every visitor a free drink.
