"No, no": Vettel rules out a job after a Formula 1 career

Sebastian Vettel's end of career in Formula 1 is inevitably approaching.

However, the Aston Martin driver cannot imagine working as a TV expert.

Miami – Sebastian Vettel is a popular figure in Formula 1. The man from Heppenheim has been flying the German flag in Formula 1 for 15 years.

The four-time world champion was not quite able to follow in the footsteps of racing legend Michael Schumacher.

Nevertheless: Vettel convinces with his open nature and funny sayings, which goes down well with the fans.

Recently, however, there have been rumors that Vettel could soon be giving up his racing helmet.

The 34-year-old is no longer the youngest, things are not going according to plan at Aston Martin in the second year either, his contract is expiring.

The end of the career of Germany's flagship driver would certainly hurt the fans.

But how would Vettel continue after his Formula 1 career?

One option seems to be off the table.

"I'm not going to be a TV expert.

No, no," Vettel told the French news agency AFP before the new Grand Prix in Miami this Sunday.

Pity!

The spectators in front of the screens would have been happy about the expertise of the ex-world champion.

However, the motto applies in Formula 1 as in football: never say never!

It has long been a tradition on German TV for deserving ex-pilots to share their knowledge as experts.

Former world champions Nico Rosberg and Nico Hülkenberg have already worked for RTL in the past, and Ralf Schumacher and Timo Glock are also available as co-commentators on Sky this season.

Sebastian Vettel would probably fit seamlessly into this squad and could also provide impetus in this profession.

Whatever Vettel decides, the fans can rest easy: the Hessian can't keep his hands off motorsport entirely.

"It's what I love, so you never know," said Vettel, who is probably looking for a break after retiring.

"I may stay in racing, but maybe not right away."

Vettel is still full of juice and wants to show what he's made of.

Unfortunately, there isn't too much in his car at the moment, Aston Martin is at the end of the constructors' championship - only Williams scored fewer points this Formula 1 season.

When it comes to Vettel, not a permanent state.

"When I started I didn't mind finishing outside the top 10," he said, but today "it's not what I'm here for.

I want to win."

Formula 1: Sebastian Vettel believes in his own strength

In the last race there was at least something like a glimmer of hope.

Vettel came back in a crazy Grand Prix at Imola with a strong eighth place.

He had missed the first two races with a corona infection, followed by the crash in Australia.

There is currently nothing more to get out of the Aston Martin, but that is due to the car and not to the driver himself.

"I don't have the feeling that I'm not driving as well as I used to," said Vettel.

“I have developed a lot.

And my experience helps me not to stress about certain things. ”After a career in Formula 1 is about to end that doesn’t sound like it, so the TV expert Vettel will not exist in the next few years either way.

At Aston Martin, however, a driver rotation with Fernando Alonso could be imminent.
