The last district derby of the district league season is taking place in Moosinning.

Moosinning/Langengeisling – For the penultimate game of the season, FC Moosinning welcomes FC Langengeisling to the district derby this Saturday at 3 p.m.

Nine points behind the second in the table with two games left, no great arithmetic is necessary: That is no longer enough for the FCM to go further up, the season is over.

The Geislingers, on the other hand, still need points in the fight to stay up in the league.

"It's not about anything anymore," says Christoph Ball, coach of the yellow-blacks, very energetically.

“It's a derby – you want and have to win it.” The 41-year-old was ill all week.

"Fortunately not Corona," he gives the all-clear.

His brother Georg, 32 and playing assistant coach, is now responsible.

"But he's still ailing now," said the older brother and boss.

There are a few changes in the FCM squad.

Christian Reiser will be absent due to illness.

According to coach Ball, the first replacement is Matthias Eschbaumer.

And Kerim Cetinkaya is fit again.

"A great footballer and in top form physically," enthuses his coach about the 40-year-old.

"And our youngsters, such as Lukas Treffler, have developed really well, so despite a few absences we still have a good team on the pitch," Christoph Ball is convinced.

A week after the 2-0 win against the favorites from Saaldorf, FC Langengeisling now has the next favorite in front of their chests in the derby.

FC Moosinning is unbeaten in five games, and FC Langengeisling has one game more.

Maxi Maier, player and sporting director of the FCL, is also aware of the difficulty of the task.

"The win against Saaldorf was extremely important in terms of the table, but Moosinning is one level higher.

There is no question that they are the clear favourites.”

Maier also refers to the first leg, which was lost 1:5 at home.

It was the “worst game of the season”.

Geisling's sporting director adds: "It did hurt, especially in the derby, but that's part of the process of a promoted team somewhere.

The reaction is important.

We got out of a difficult phase very well and have gained self-confidence in the last few games.” Maier has words of praise for opponents Moosinning.

Many "fantastic individual players who have already played at a higher level" can be found in the yellow-black ranks.

The sporting director of the FCL means, among other things, Georg Ball, Maxi Lechner and Florian Jakob, who in his opinion are among the best players in the league.

The latter also has an exciting relationship with the FCL.

Once a week Jakob holds the fitness training at the Geislingers.

"Of course, that was a funny situation on Tuesday, there were a few jokes," says Maier with a smile.

So the outsider is in a good mood.

On the one hand, this is because the homework for the coming season has been done and the entire coaching team is already in place (we reported).

The squad is also looking good at the FCL at the moment.

Max Millisterfer moves up for the missing substitute keeper Christian Bernhardt, otherwise everyone is on board.

The Geislingers seem ready for the derby revenge.
