Eintracht Frankfurt still scored a point in the Bundesliga duel between tenth and eleventh in the table after Borussia Mönchengladbach took an early lead at 1-1 (0-1).
Frankfurt's head coach Oliver Glasner gave up almost all his regulars after reaching the final of the Europa League.
Defender Martin Hinteregger (hamstring) and midfielder Djibril Sow (broken nose) sustained injuries on Thursday.
Hauge, Borré, Kamada, Rode, Kostic and Knauff were not in the starting XI either.
Everything is focused on the international final against Rangers from Glasgow on May 18 in Seville.
Even before kick-off, the fans made it clear that Eintracht's last two Bundesliga games were just a minor matter: "It doesn't matter today - bring us the trophy," it said in black letters on a white banner.
But it doesn't matter that much, because other words could be read below: "Heavy defeats, sensational victories - we demand commitment, fight and will, not just 90 minutes, but 34 games" - a summary of a bizarre Eintracht season intoxicating performances in the European Cup - and a lot of mediocrity in the domestic league.

This mediocrity was also evident on this Sunday afternoon.
The guests presented themselves a little more eagerly, who used their second chance to lead through Alassane Plea (4th) right from the start.
The game then lost visibly in pace and goal scoring.
The game splashed towards the half-time break with constant fan chants from the ranks in the background in a sunny 20 degrees Celsius.
After the restart, it was the guests again who started with a little train towards the goal.
Another early goal almost came, but Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp still had his foot on the shot from eleven meters by Breel Embolo (50th).
The Hessians were also starting to show a little more enthusiasm, so that in the 66th minute Gonçalo Paciência took aim from 24 meters and the ball landed centimeters away from goalkeeper Tobias Sippel's right hand.
As a result, both teams had more chances, and while the SGE fans were already hugging each other blissfully, the ball hit Borussia again.
The points were shared, however, as Kamada was just offside when he scored.
