Summary of Carlos Alcras' victory in the Madrid tournament (Sport 1)
Carlos Alcras made his name at the top of world tennis after winning the Madrid tournament today (Sunday) with 3: 6, 1: 6 over previous year champion Sasha Zebrav.
The 19-year-old Spaniard completed a dream tournament that ousted, among others, Rafael Nadal (the first teenager ever to do so) and world number one Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
Now, do it for the 25-year-old German with a great performance and a dominant win.
In contrast to the stubborn fights against Nadal and Djokovic, Alkras came in very confident to face the No. 3, forcing him to make five double-fouls when he did not perform even one.
After winning 3: 6 in the first set, the young Spaniard ran over Zebrav in the second set, and despite Zebrav's insistence in the last game, Alkras was the one to celebrate at the end.
