Montauban is inconsolable twenty-four hours after losing one of his rugby players.
Kelly Meafua, Samoan third line of the local club, playing in Pro D2, father of three children, and soon a fourth, died Saturday morning at 31 years old.
The former Samoan international jumped from a twenty-two meter high bridge in the Tarn in the early hours of 6.30am as he left a nightclub in the city center after celebrating the success of his team, the Montalbanaise Sports Union in Narbonne (48-40) in the last home game of the season for which he started.
“I attended the searches, it was hard…Kelly meant a lot to me.
I had brought him during my visit to Béziers, I left and found him here.
I appreciated him immensely.
He was a really good guy.
