Hamilton counters Red Bull mockery: "Disrespectful and stupid comments"

Lewis Hamilton coolly countered the mocking comments from the Red Bull camp about the sporting crisis at Mercedes.

Miami – "I'll take that as fuel and I'll come back stronger," said Formula 1 record champion before the Grand Prix in Miami on Sunday (9:30 p.m. / Sky).

Lewis Hamilton was last lapped by world champion Max Verstappen in Imola.

Red Bull Motorsport Director Helmut Marko then sneered: "Maybe he should have stopped last year." Hamilton described this as "disrespectful" and "stupid comments".

In the previous season, the Brit and Red Bull star Verstappen had fought a bitter duel for the world title up to the final lap of the final race.

A highly controversial decision by the race director enabled Verstappen to make the decisive overtaking maneuver in Abu Dhabi and thus his first World Championship triumph in Formula 1.

This year, on the other hand, Hamilton has been far behind in the Mercedes so far, while Verstappen has won two of the first four races of the season.

"People love you when you're up and they love to kick you when you're down.

It's a part of life," Hamilton told Sky Sports.

The criticism from experts and the mockery on the Internet would not slow him down.

"I've had a lot harder times and I've come back," Hamilton said.
