In the 1-1 draw in Buchbach, regional football club SpVgg Unterhaching relied on the youngsters: A total of nine players from their own youth were used.

Unterhaching

– At the press conference after the 1:1 (0:0) draw in the regional league game between the soccer players of TSV Buchbach and SpVgg Unterhaching, there was something like a beer tent atmosphere.

This was due to the fact that the players of TSV Buchbach had announced in advance that they would give their fans 100 liters of free beer as a thank you, which the team personally poured out to the thirsty among the 782 spectators after the final whistle.

And so the game analyzes of the Buchbach coach Marcel Thallinger and his Hachinger colleague Sandro Wagner were applauded and cheered like at a folk festival.

"The fans on both sides got their money's worth," said Sandro Wagner.

The Hachinger coach had "seen an intense game with a lot of fire in it and good ball passages".

With the shortcoming that “unfortunately we only take one point with us”.

The draw from the point of view of SpVgg Unterhaching: not enough.

With the Buchbach audience behind him, TSV trainer Marcel Thallinger came to a different conclusion.

The draw was "performance-driven" because his team "offered a fight from the first minute, we didn't just want to play for a point".

But for victory.

The goal by Haching's Patrick Hobsch (58th) was "gifted" to TSV Buchbach, Thallinger thought.

So was there more to it than Christian Brucia's 1-1 lead (78')?

Sandro Wagner did not want to let all this stand, despite all the free beer euphoria from the opponent.

"I don't see it that way," said Haching's head coach, "after the 1-0 lead we had six or seven chances to score." This lack of maturity in the final conclusion "has been following us for months".

And Haching's midfield warhorse Manuel Stiefler (33) also contradicted Buchbach's point of view: "We had many chances to make it 2-0 and we were determined to win here.

And when we conceded a goal, we could have cleared it two or three times beforehand.

That's why I'm already disappointed.”

Hobsch picks up a through ball from Skarlatidis

After a committed but poor first half on both sides, more happened in front of the gates in the second round.

Simon Skarlatidis, who had just come on as a substitute, started Hachinger's 1-0 lead with a through ball, and top scorer Hobsch skilfully picked up this assist.

The Buchbacher 1:1 equalization resulted from a tumult in the penalty area: After a corner, Haching goalkeeper Fabian Scherger was able to punch Buchbacher captain Aleksandro Petrovic's header away, but Christian Brucia successfully pulled away on the second attempt.

"All in all, the draw in this very competitive but fair game is okay," was the conclusion of SpVgg President Manfred Schwabl.

He was more interested in "the entire development, which makes you want more" than the bare result.

This time there were six players from our own youth in the starting line-up: Fabian Scherger in goal as well as Viktor Zentrich, Benedikt Bauer, Max Lamby, Boipelo Mashigo and Ben Westermeier;

Sandro Porta, Florian Roggermeier and Leonard Grob were substituted on by three other young talents.

"That's what it's all about," mused Manfred Schwabl, "creating the balancing act and finding the right mix between young and old." His impression: "I really liked the boys and the coach." That's more, viewed in perspective worth than the pure 1:1.
