Street battles broke out today (Sunday) in Bilbao, between anti-Israel demonstrators and Hapoel Holon fans.
At first, the locals waved Palestinian flags and shouted against Israel, while the Purples sang Hope and cursed them back.
Within a short time the situation escalated, and the parties were seen throwing chairs at each other.
Israeli teams that have been hosted in the Basque Country over the years have often encountered hostile treatment, and Holon was no exception last weekend, as part of the Champions League Final Four.

Club chairman Eitan Lanciano tweeted today a call to Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Yair Lapid, in which he wrote, "For several days now, Israeli fans who have come to a sporting event have been suffering from anti-Semitism in Bilbao by pro-Palestinian elements, who are preparing for demonstrations.
Every meeting with Israelis turns into derogatory shouts and throwing objects, we will be happy to hear your voice on the matter.
