"A collective adventure": with the Lagardère Trophy, women's tennis is back in Paris

After eight years of absence, a test of the WTA circuit will be disputed from this Monday on the courts of the Croix-Catelan in Paris (16th).

Finally… Eight years after the closure of the Open Gaz de France (and its derivatives in terms of name), Paris is hosting a women's tennis tournament!

The first edition of the Lagardère Trophy opens this Monday, May 9 on the majestic site of La Croix-Catelan, in the Bois de Boulogne.

A test labeled WTA 125, whose prize pool amounts to 115,000 dollars (like Saint-Malo, Contrexéville, Angers and Limoges, behind Lyon and Strasbourg in WTA 250).

“The location and its history lend themselves to this,” smiles Benjamin Boulanger, deputy general manager of Lagardère Paris Racing.

We had this project for three or four years, but we first wanted to modernize our infrastructure because we felt that the site needed it for our members and to host this type of event.
