EM 2024 in Germany: Where is the final?

In 2024 the European Football Championship will come to Germany.

It is not yet clear where the final will be played - a decision will be made on May 10th.

Munich - Berlin is by far the largest city in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Almost 3.7 million people live there, making our capital - in terms of inhabitants - the fifth largest metropolis in Europe.

Looking at the other places in the top 10 of this ranking, football fans inevitably have the big clubs on this continent in mind as well: be it Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or the impressive number of Premier League clubs London.

Big cities usually also mean: big clubs.

But Berlin seems surprisingly foreign here.

When it comes to football in the capital, Germany is delivering a scenario that probably doesn't exist a second time on this planet.

Hertha BSC was the only Bundesliga club for years, but the old lady has never won a major title.

Union Berlin is a refreshing change, but the Irons are also surprisingly weak when it comes to trophies.

Almost unthinkable in other capitals of the world.

EM 2024: where will the final take place?

Berlin apparently not guaranteed as the venue

The football capital of Germany is in Munich.

At least when it comes to success.

FC Bayern recently became German champions for the tenth time in a row, and the Allianz Arena is known all over the world.

When you think of football in Germany, the fans most certainly don't think of Berlin or the Olympic Stadium that goes with it.

Maybe that's why there hasn't been a decision yet as to which city will host the final of the 2024 European Championships?

Normally, the finals are always played in the capitals of the host country.

In Germany, however, this is obviously not quite clear.

The UEFA Executive Committee first has to make a decision: on Tuesday, May 10, the time has come and the final venue will be announced.

Could the Allianz Arena be the final venue for the EM 2024?

EM 2024 in Germany: Final location will be determined on May 10th

The “final round fixture list” is on the agenda of the decision-making body meeting in Vienna.

UEFA and the German Football Association confirmed to the German Press Agency on Friday that the stadiums will also be assigned to the games of the 24 participating nations.

At the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the newly built Munich Arena was awarded the contract for the start, and the final took place in the Berlin Olympic Stadium.

In addition to the capital and Munich, the hosts of the German home finals, which are to be played from June 14 to July 14, are Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Düsseldorf, Leipzig and Stuttgart.

The final draw is to take place in December 2023 in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the international media center will be in Leipzig.
