FC Bayern could also use RB Leipzig this summer, and a corresponding offer is apparently being prepared for midfielder Konrad Laimer.

Munich – FC Bayern lifted the championship trophy shortly before the end of the season, and now that the season is almost over, the focus is on the transfer market again.

As in the previous summer, the title holder is also looking to Leipzig this time.

After the change of coach in the winter, RB showed themselves to be in great shape and even scored two points more than Bayern in the previous 16 games in the second half of the season.

They seem to be very interested in a midfielder from Saxony: Konrad Laimer.

Now one of the RB decision-makers spoke up.

FC Bayern: RB Leipzig manager Mintzlaff wants to avoid "strong upheaval".

For the penultimate time of the current season, opinionated voices from the Bundesliga met in the

at the Hilton Airport Hotel in Munich.

Also in the group was Oliver Mintzlaff, Managing Director of RB Leipzig.

The 46-year-old commented on the rumors about his stars like top scorer Christopher Nkunku or Konrad Laimer.

The latter player in particular has apparently been on FC Bayern's list since the summer of last year.

Mintzlaff found a clear answer to the question of whether the Saxons could keep the core of their team together beyond the summer.

"At Nkunku we discussed internally with the player and the consultant that we would not let him go and that we would not have such a major upheaval again next year," said the RB official.

FC Bayern: Laimer to Munich?

Transfer expert reports on FCB offer

"We want to attack and take the next development step and you can't give up top performers every year," Mintzlaff summarized the situation.

Laimer is one of the top performers mentioned in this year's DFB Cup finalists, which is why Leipzig would resist a sale.

But the Austrian's contract is only valid until the summer of 2023, which is why it could only be released this summer on worthwhile conditions.

As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on Sunday, Bayern are currently preparing an offer of between 18 and 20 million euros for Laimer.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann, who has often spoken positively about his ex-player in the past, is said to be the driving force.

However, the central midfielder not only arouses desires in Munich, according to the latest reports he is also being courted in England.

FC Bayern: third Leipzig star after Munich?

Mintzlaff sentence reveals how it might work

Despite all the statements about his players, Mintzlaff also indicated in a one-two that Bayern have a chance of transferring the next Leipzig professionals after Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer.

"Our model remains that we will also sell players," said the RB manager.

The player himself had recently avoided a clear commitment to RB that his next career step could "go in all directions".
