The performance is worthy of the consecration: phenomenal.

As the main American media reported on Monday, Nikola Jokic, the 27-year-old Serbian player was voted MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the NBA regular season for the second year in a row.

The Denver Nuggets pivot won ahead of Joel Embiid (Philadelphia Sixers), possible future player for the France team, and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), winner of this prestigious individual trophy in 2019 and 2020.

While he was deprived of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr, his two best teammates, Jokic managed to carry the Colorado franchise to sixth place in the Western Conference, with a record of 48 wins and 34 losses.

All with titanic statistics: 27.1 points (6th in the league), 13.8 rebounds (2nd) and 7.9 assists (8th).

He also made history by becoming the first NBA player to rack up 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in a single regular season.

Chosen in 41st position by the Nuggets in the 2014 draft, he became, last year, the lowest drafted MVP in NBA history.

Thanks to this second title, he also joins the very closed circle of players elected MVP of the regular season two seasons in a row.

Before him, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Moses Malone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Willis Reed, Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell achieved this feat.

Only downside for the Serb: elimination in the first round of the play-off against the Golden State Warriors.
