Shapovalov lost his head during the second set when he was trailing 4: 3.
It all started with a late correction by the chair judge, who read that filing was out.
The Canadian jumped over the net and started arguing with referee Richard Hay as he signaled to him on the pitch where he thought the ball had landed.
The referee explained to the tennis player that he understood his frustration, but gave him a point penalty as he jumped over the net and that was his second warning.
So things heated up and Povalov demanded that the tournament observer come.
When the judge told him it was the law, the Canadian replied, "No it's not, it's stupidity."
The scene became ugly as the local crowd stood behind Songo and shouted contemptuously at Shapovalov while it was talking to the observer.
The tennis player responded with a scream, "Shut up your food."
Luckily for him, the referee did not give him another warning and a loss of a game.
After the game, Povalov said: "I had to calm myself down after this incident. I guess I am now aware of the rules."
