Races for the Südbayern series and the Bayernliga were on at MC Peißenberg.

The drivers from the region got top places - and were happy about fans at the track.

Peißenberg – Even in times of Corona, the MC Peißenberg BMX team organized national races.

But the most recent event was something special again: For the first time in a long time, "spectators were finally able to be there again," reported team spokeswoman Simone Schaberl.

They saw exciting races in the series for the southern Bavarian ADAC championship and the Bavarian league over two days.

The local teams took numerous top places.

The Peißenberg team apparently got through the Corona period well.

In addition to many old hands, according to team spokeswoman Simone Schaberl, "a few newcomers also drew attention to themselves": In the ADAC races on the first day, it was mainly the little ones who ensured top results.

Five-year-old Paula Huber came second in her class, the "Beginners 5-6" (female).

Her sister Lena, who is two years older than her, even finished first in the "Beginners 7-8".

With this first place, she also qualified for the "Race of the Champions", in which the best five to twelve year olds compete against each other.

In the Bayernliga races on the second day of the competition, Sebastian Grandmontagne (Beginners 9-10) and Silas Schnaubelt (Boys 11-12) ended up surprisingly well ahead.

Both showed strong performances in their heats - they were always right at the front.

The MC drivers finished their semi-finals in second place.

In the finals, Grandmontagne finished third, Schnaubelt crossed the finish line second.

Jonas Hellmer (Boys 9-10) and Hannah Fink (Girls 11-12) took third places in the Bayernliga.

Lea Glas made it into the top three in two classes: second in the “Cruiser Women” and third in the “Girls 15-16”.

Four races, four victories – that was Franziska Lengger's record in the “Elite Women”.

She was way ahead of the five other competitors.

Jamiro Löbel, Maxi Stölzl and Jakob Lengger showed consistently strong performances, both in the ADAC run and in the Bayernliga, so that they took various trophies and prizes home with them at the end of the weekend.

On the first day all three started in class IV (13-16) and dominated the large starting field.

Lengger won ahead of Löbel and Stölzl with the same number of points.

This qualified them for the “Race of the Champions”, in which the best drivers between the ages of 13 and 16 competed against the elite class.

And the Peißenbergers were convincing there too: Lengger won ahead of Löbel, Stölzl was fifth.

The trio was also up front in the Bavarian league.

In the "Boys 13-14" class, Löbel won the day ahead of Stölzl.

Lengger took second place in the Boys 15-16 class.

Siblings win for the Weilheim BMX team

"Finally normal racing feeling after Corona again", was the comment of the Weilheim BMX team on the event in Peißenberg, where spectators were allowed again.

In the Bayernliga, Finlay Rae made a strong showing in the “Beginners 13-14”.

He fended off the attacks of his five competitors in all runs and thus clinched the day's victory with a maximum of four race wins.

There were also successes among the licensed drivers: The siblings Gregorio Frison (Boys 5-8) and Anastasia Frison (Girls 9-10) each won their racing class.

Confident winner: Finlay Rae from the Weilheimer BMX team won in the "Beginners 13-14".
