European Taekwondo Championship: Avishag Samberg will lead the Israeli delegation Israel today

Olympic medalist Avishag Samberg will lead the Israeli delegation to the European Taekwondo Championships, which will take place next week in Manchester, England, where she will once again try to get on the podium. 

For the 20-year-old Samberg, this will be the first major competition since she won a bronze medal at the opening of the Tokyo Olympics last summer, when in 2020 she won the gold medal in that competition, in the up to 49kg weight category. 

Samberg will not be alone in the European Championship.

The support for the industry in recent years has led to a large and high-quality delegation, with Rivka Baich (up to 46 kg), Noa Price (up to 53 kg) and Dana Azran (over 73 kg) participating in more women. 

For men, Samberg's partner, Nimrod Kravitsky, who competes in the weight category up to 68 kg, knows the class well, having won the silver medal in 2020 and a year earlier the bronze, and this time will try to go all the way and complete the place on the missing podium. 

The men's delegation will also include Tom Pashkovsky, who will compete up to 54 kg, Uri Patishi (up to 58 kg), Yagur Rogozin (up to 63 kg) and Alex Filipov (up to 80 kg), as well as the two Paralympic athletes. , Assaf Yasur (up to 58 kg) and Adnan Milad (up to 63 kg).
