The Swimming Association Cup provided a fascinating show of swimming in the National Pool at the Wingate Institute tonight (Wednesday), with the Olympic swimmers starring in the water.
Anastasia Gurbanko, Yaakov Tomarkin, Miron Heruti and Tomer Frenkel were among the winners, while Bar Soloveitchik and Daria Golovti also recorded nice victories.
The highest quality time for women was signed by Gurbanko, who won with 2: 26.20 minutes in 200 breaststroke, second from her Israeli record and again faster than the criterion for the World Championships in Budapest.
In the men's, Miron Heruti impressed with a victory in the 50 free in a time of 21.95, only 8 hundredths of his Israeli record, and for him once again faster than the criteria for the world championship he already held.

In the 100 backstroke, we had a particularly close battle, in the end Yaakov Tomarkin won with 55.13 s, 14 hundredths ahead of David Gerchik and 21 hundredths ahead of Michael Leitrovsky.
In the men's 100 butterfly, too, the battle was close between the two Olympics, with Tomer Frenkel winning with 52.69, 4 hundredths ahead of Gal Cohen Gromi, both of whom had already secured a place in the upcoming world championships.
In the 200 breaststroke for men, Daniel Yossifov won with a criterion for the European Youth Championship of 2: 15.70 D.
In the 400 free, Bar Soloveitchik won thanks to an impressive finish and 3: 51.95 minutes, in the women's Ofek Adir won with 4: 22.95 minutes.
Ophir Rakhah won in the 100 butterfly for women with 1: 03.00 D. and in the 100 backstroke for women Marcy Ann Najira won with 1: 03.79 minutes.
Additional criteria for youth were set by Daniel Krichevsky in 100 butterfly, Yoav Romano in 400 freestyle, Inbar Danziger, Stefan Omelchenko and Okan Goldin in 100 backstroke (with the latter improving his age record from this morning with 56.88 s) and Martin Kartabi in 50 free.
