With the help of Ezer Mitzion and the Ministry of Health, Saadia Cohen, who played for Hapoel Jerusalem more than 60 years ago, fulfilled the big dream - to meet up close with the players, who promised another season in the Premier League • Shai Aharon: "

Saadia Cohen, an 83-year-old Holocaust survivor, played for Hapoel Jerusalem more than 60 years ago.

Today, when he was in a geriatric hospital in Ma'ale Adumim, he mainly had one big dream that he wanted to fulfill - to return to the field and meet up close with the team players.

Ezer Mitzion and the Ministry of Health fulfilled his wish this morning (Thursday) - after coordination with the group's management, he arrived in a special ambulance with his family and the association's project companions for an exciting meeting on the lawn in the Cedars Valley.

Cohen, a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to Israel from Morocco as a young child, was one of the most prominent players of the Hapoel Jerusalem team more than 60 years ago.

Today Cohen, 83, is in the geriatric hospital of the Amal Ministry of Health in Ma'ale Adumim and had one big dream that he wanted to fulfill.

He asked to come and meet up close with the players of the Hapoel Jerusalem team that a few days ago ensured its stay in the Premier League.

Ezer Mitzion, an organization that accompanies Cohen, volunteered to help - as part of the "Wish for Survivor" project of the association and the Ministry of Health, which fulfills wishes for Holocaust survivors throughout the country.

Project supervisor Ora Levy Abixis contacted the group's manager, Shai Aharon, who immediately donated to help.

This morning, after many coordinations, the visit took place.

Cohen, who is confined to a wheelchair, was taken to the team's field in the Cedars Valley - where he finally got to fulfill his dream.

Cohen, met with the coach and the players and shared with them his experiences from the days he played on the team.

He admired the conditions today and said he remembered that 60 years ago the players would even come to the pitch in trucks transporting food.

The excitement on the lawn was special - both for Cohen and his family and for the players and team.

Director of the "Wish for Survival" project at Ezer Mitzion, Naomi Mizrahi: "As part of the project, we have already fulfilled about 800 wishes of Holocaust survivors, most of them fascinated and not mobile. At the same time, still fulfilling every wish is exciting and special for all of us. To see the joy and happiness on the faces of the elderly who are getting so old "to fulfill a dream that has often been waiting for them for many years."

Hapoel Jerusalem team manager Shai Aharon: When we received the referral - it was clear to us that we were immediately involved. Hapoel Jerusalem is a team with a long and glorious tradition and the intergenerational connection is significant and special. We were all excited and wish Saadia health and longevity. He wants to.
