Schreuder back to Amsterdam

Former Hoffenheim Bundesliga coach Alfred Schreuder returns as head coach to newly crowned Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam.

This was announced by the top club on Thursday.

The 49-year-old comes from Club Brugge in Belgium and replaces Erik ten Hag, who moved to Manchester United and under whom Schreuder was assistant coach at Ajax for a year and a half from 2018.

Schreuder has a two-year contract until June 30, 2024 with an option for another season, Ajax announced on Thursday.

For the 2020/2021 season, Schreuder joined FC Barcelona as assistant coach to his compatriot Ronald Koeman until they were released at the end of October 2021.

At the beginning of January 2022, he then took over the Belgian first division club Bruges.

Schreuder is currently playing in the playoffs for the Belgian championship with Brugge.

Mainz finally brings Kohr from Frankfurt

Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05 has secured the services of midfielder Dominik Kohr.

The 28-year-old, who Mainz have been on loan from league and local rivals Eintracht Frankfurt since January 2021, is making a permanent move from the Main to the Rhine.

Kohr, who was originally under contract with Eintracht until 2024, signed with FSV until 2026.

Darmstadt binds attacker Seydel until 2024

Promotion candidate Darmstadt 98 is working on the squad for the coming season shortly before the last matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga.

The Lilien extended the expiring contract with attacker Aaron Seydel until the summer of 2024, the contract is independent of the league.

The club announced this before the decisive game for promotion against SC Paderborn on Sunday (3.30 p.m., TV: Sky).

Darmstadt is dependent on blunders from Hamburger SV or Werder Bremen for its chance of promotion.

Seydel switched to Darmstadt from neighbors FSV Mainz 05 in August 2020 and this season he has scored six goals in 21 appearances.

Rostock extended with central defender Malone

Second division club Hansa Rostock has extended the expiring contract with central defender Ryan Malone by one year until 2023.

The club announced this on Thursday.

The American moved from VfB Lübeck to Rostock last year and has played 24 competitive games for Rostock so far.

Bayern soccer players and coach Scheuer go their separate ways

Champion last year, this time only runners-up after a 6-0 defeat against competitor Wolfsburg: Jens Scheuer was successful with FC Bayern, but also suffered setbacks.
