Leon Draisaitl will no longer join the DEB team, but goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer, defender Moritz Seider and striker Tim Stützle will be there.
At the Olympics in Beijing, the NHL players were completely absent.
The DEB squad at the Ice Hockey World Championships will also be completed by experienced players such as Moritz Müller (Kölner Haie), Leonhard Pföderl (Eisbären Berlin) and Korbinian Holzer (Adler Mannheim).

If you look at the schedule for the 2022 Ice Hockey World Championships, it quickly becomes clear that the German national ice hockey team is playing in quick succession.
After the opening match against Canada, the DEB team will face Slovakia (May 14), France (May 16), Denmark (May 19), Italy (May 20), Kazakhstan (May 22) in Group A and Switzerland (May 24).
