Olympic medalist Uri Sasson is currently convening a special press conference in Tel Aviv, with the participation of the union's chairman of the Phonetic language and national team coach Oren Samadja, in which he announces his retirement.

Sasson, 31, has not competed since the Tokyo Olympics last summer, so was part of the team that won a bronze medal in the team competition.
During his career, Sasson, who has competed since the beginning of 2014 in the over 100kg category, won the bronze medal in the individual competition at the 2016 Rio Olympics and twice won silver medals at the 2015 European Championships in Baku and a year later in Kazan.
In addition, Sasson has dozens of medals in the round competitions, with perhaps the most important of all after the Olympics, is the silver medal in the Masters in which the best take part, in 2016 held in Mexico, and 2 silver medals and one very one that won the Grand Slam round.
Sasson also took part once in the 2016 Open Weightlifting Championships in Marrakesh, Morocco, where he lost his first battle, where he is expected to continue in the industry and serve as a mentor to the next generation and help his teammates in the Paris 2024 campaign, as first revealed in Israel Today.
