Insulting songs from Ultras Nice against Emiliano Sala: the LFP takes up the case

2022-05-12T09:37:16.402Z

Members of the OGC Nice Ultras took over a song on Wednesday evening mocking the tragic death of Nantes striker Emiliano Sala.

After the unanimous condemnation, time for sanctions?

According to our information, the Professional Football League seized this Thursday morning from the chants heard Wednesday evening at the Allianz Riviera on the sidelines of the meeting between OGC Nice and AS Saint-Étienne.

"The incident appears in the delegate's report and the disciplinary committee is taking up the file", tells us an official of the LFP, without specifying the exact reason for this decision.

"He's an Argentinian who doesn't swim well, Emiliano underwater", sang part of the Nice public around the 9th minute, parodying the song ("He's an Argentinian, he doesn't let go, Emiliano Sala”) that the Nantes supporters sing at each match at this minute.

This provocation follows the defeat suffered on Saturday evening in the Coupe de France final against the Canaries (1-0).

"Human bullshit has no limit, I am scandalized..." It is with these words that Antoine Kombouaré, the Nantes coach, questioned in the mixed zone after the Canaries' victory against Rennes (2-1) in the Wednesday evening, commented on these nauseating acts.

Same indignation on the side of the Aiglons technician Christophe Galtier.

“I have no words to describe what we heard.

Upon returning to the locker room, there were no cries, no joy… But amazement, he said.

You can hear a lot of things in a football stadium.

But where do insults against a deceased footballer come from?

They came from a few people, but they weren't just three.

Let them stay at home with their bottles and their insults.

If this is our society, we are in deep shit…”

Many players have been outraged on social networks.

Among the messages, we can remember those of Valentin Rongier ("What a shame. It's disgusting") and the Riviera striker Andy Delort, who dedicated his double against the Greens to the memory of the deceased Argentine.
