The handball team from TSV Weilheim lost 26:30 to SG Kempten/Kottern.

This has consequences for the situation in the play-up in the district league.

Weilheim – After just two games of the play-up in the district league, the issue of “promotion” for the handball players at TSV Weilheim should have been dealt with.

After the 26:32 (17:17) home defeat against SG Kempten-Kottern, the district townsfolk are now four points behind leaders HSG Isar-Loisach, which will be difficult to catch up with only four games left.

"It was a good game in terms of fighting, a significant improvement over the game against Ottobeuren," reported Weilheim's team spokesman Lukas Schwendele.

"Unfortunately, we didn't hit the important things," Schwendele complained about the poor conversion of chances.

TSV Weilheim affords bad chances

In this regard, the extremely young Allgäu team, which was mainly recruited from last year's A-youth, proved to be much more effective.

In addition, the Weilheimers had problems setting playful accents.

The game over the circle and out-played goals remained largely in short supply.

Most of the time it was about individual actions, but they didn't always lead to success.

There were first difficulties even before kick-off, as the referees had canceled at short notice and there was therefore no game management.

A referee from Kempten, who was in the hall as a spectator, took over the whistle.

"He did a good job," Schwendele didn't complain about his performance.

Again, the opponent comes to an end: Weilheim's men (in blue jerseys) made too many mistakes and carelessness.

The Weilheimers found it very difficult to get going.

After a few minutes they were already four goals behind.

Only in the closing stages of the first half did they find their way.

Adrian Rangnick from the outside and Schwendele from the back played a large part in the 6-0 series thanks to which the hosts took the lead.

Assigned referee cancels at short notice

After the break, the hard-fought game went back and forth.

Both teams missed some big chances, such as penalty throws or counterattacks.

Up to 21:21 (41 st ) the game was balanced in terms of the result.

After that, the Weilheimers made more mistakes.

The Allgäu used slight ball losses in attack and negligence in defense to pull away again.

Attempts by the hosts to turn the game around in the closing stages yielded little, as they often completed their attacks too hastily and imprecisely.

The SG, on the other hand, was much more mellow.

At the latest at 24:30 from the point of view of the Weilheimers (57th), this encounter was decided.

Statistics:

Weilheim's players and goals: Lukas Schwendele (6), Max Osthöver (6), Timo Weinmann (5), Adrian Rangnick (3), Nico Beinlich (2), Korbinian Wimmer (2/1 seven meters), Max Kunz (1 ), Moritz Krause (1), Felix Letsche, Benny Leppert, Sylvester Wolf, Lukas Beer;

Goalkeeper: Benedict Blacek.
