Levante's desperate adventure to reach the beach of permanence ended with a resounding beating at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Alessio Lisci's platoon capitulated in the first half against a Madrid without moorings that attacked in waves and swept the Granota lines without opposition until opening a four-goal gap before the break.
The club pays with relegation for negligent sports planning by its president, Quico Catalán, who has struck down two coaches, Paco López and Javier Pereira, and a sports director, Manolo Salvador, in addition to handing over the team to new coach Alessio Lisci .

The Orriols club says goodbye to the first division after five consecutive seasons in the top flight.
Now he faces an uncertain future where, despite the fact that he is going to receive money from the LaLiga compensation fund for relegation, he has to sell assets.
That is, footballers, worth 10.5 million euros before July 1, according to the figures approved by the club at the general meeting on December 22.
The previous year he closed it with losses of 23 million euros that forced him, even if they remained in first, to sell for those 10.5 million.
The descent precipitates that urgency.
Any player on the squad is likely to be transferred if the market, asleep due to the pandemic for the last two summers, offers a good amount.
It happens, however, that with both feet in second, the offers will be lower.
Campaña, Bardhi and Jorge De Frutos are the first in the starting list.
Roger Martí and Morales will have suitors, but with them the club will be able to exploit the emotional side and the link to the Barça fans.
The two goalkeepers, Cárdenas and Aitor, are also in the window.
Last summer, the president of the club, Quico Catalán, ruled out selling De Frutos for an offer of around 10 million euros.
In this case, 50% of the player's economic rights belong to Real Madrid, a situation that has a negative impact on the amount that the club can receive.
The previous summer, Catalán increased the price to the clubs interested in José Campaña, demanding a figure close to 15 million euros, half of his termination clause of 30 million euros.
The strategy of not selling cheap in previous markets to revalue assets during this season has collapsed with the decline, which makes these players a bargain for the next summer window.
With the relegation completed, the spotlight points to Quico Catalán, who in the first week of January announced at a press conference that at the end of the season he would make his position available to the club's Foundation.
"Due to responsibility, I can't leave right now or tomorrow, but I can leave at the end of the season," declared Catalán.
The president announced that "in June" he would undergo "an examination" to find out "if Levante supports this project."
“I have told the Board that, at the end of the season, whatever happens, I will put my position at the disposal of the Foundation.
And we will proceed in the way that we have to proceed.”
The president did not explain what this examination would consist of, but he controls the Foundation, the entity's largest shareholder, which days ago approved the worst accounts of Catalan's stage as a leader in Orriols with the stock roller.
Responsibility for sports planning falls on Felipe Miñambres, the sports director signed by Catalán after firing Manolo Salvador and David Navarro on November 29.
Felipe has been working for weeks with the horizon of a decline.
His first assignment will be to decide the coach.
"I see myself fully prepared to return Levante to first in the event of relegation," Alessio Lisci said on Wednesday.
Felipe could instead opt for technicians with more experience.
The Italian has achieved twenty-two points in the twenty-one games he has played and with him the six victories of the course have been achieved.
