A huge achievement for the Israeli dominoes association, which managed to win today (Friday) a vote held in Spain, to host the European Championships for seniors in the winter of 2024, from which teams will qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris that year.
This is an event, the largest Olympic ball industry that has reached the country to date, when for two weeks the best teams on the continent, in women and men, will fight for the title of European champions, when of course the host country will automatically enter the tournament.
The union, led by chairman Revital Cohen Gloska, took off in the last day for Spain, where the annual congress of the European Union was held, to present to its members the plans for the championship, which is expected to take place at the Expo in Tel Aviv.
In a presentation branded under the slogan: "All colors in one city", the benefits of the city, cultural life as well as events held on the competition site were seen, such as the Eurovision Song Contest, the European Judo Championships and next month the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships.
The European Union has preferred to give Israel the hosting over Serbia, thanks to the success of hosting the World Cup for women up to the age of 20 last year and just before Israel will also host the European Championship for women up to the age of 19 this summer.
Due to the need for stands that can accommodate 5,000 spectators, the chosen location is, as mentioned, the 'Expo' complex in Tel Aviv, where a temporary pool will be built, which cost four million shekels.
