Arsenal missed the chance to qualify early for the Champions League for the first time since 2016.
In the North London Derby, the Gunners lost 0-3 (0-2) to rival Tottenham Hotspur.
England striker Harry Kane scored twice for Antonio Conte's team (22nd minute/37th), top scorer Son Heung-min scored the final score (47th).
At the latest after the dismissal of defender Rob Holding (33rd), who saw two yellow cards within seven minutes, Arsenal no longer had a real chance.
In the Premier League, Arsenal in fourth place in the Champions League and Spurs in fifth place are separated by just one point.
After an even start, three fouls on Son turned the game in Spurs' favour: First, Cedric Soares conceded a penalty that Kane converted (22').
Then Holding clumsily brought the Korean down twice and took himself out of the game with a traffic light card (33rd).
Against ten Gunners it was now easy for Tottenham not only to maintain the lead but to extend it.
Kane's header (37') and Son just after the break (47') ensured a clear result, but Tottenham remain in the role of hunter with the last two games.
Tottenham submits
"We have two games left and we've put the pressure on them," Kane said after the game.
“We have to focus on ourselves.
We're playing early on Sunday so we need to get a result and see what happens.' Tottenham play relegated Burnley on Sunday midday while Arsenal have to up their game at Newcastle United on Monday.
On the last day of the game on May 22nd, the Premier League teams will play at the same time.
Tottenham are expecting a visit to bottom side Norwich, who have already been relegated, while Arsenal are at home against Everton, who could still be in contention for relegation.
In the event of an Arsenal defeat, a draw would probably be enough for the Spurs to pass their rivals: the goal difference clearly speaks for Tottenham.
