SCBV fights for mini rescue chance.

Vaterstetten – In 2009, the SC Baldham-Vaterstetten men's footballers were able to say goodbye to more than a decade of playing at district level.

As a coach, Gedi Sugzda even smuggled SCBV directly into the district league during his first term in office.

Since relegation in 2012, the SCBV has leveled off in the district league east.

Another class pull-up failed several times.

Now the last district league home game for the SCBV men could be kicked off this Saturday at 3 p.m. in the sports center in Vaterstetten.

If they lost a point against TSV Bad Endorf, who had already been relegated, Gedi Sugzda would have returned to his personal starting point with the Red and Whites, where the Lithuanian ex-professional kicker started his coaching career in 2008.

"I would watch this game as a football fan because you will see a Baldham team fighting for their last chance," Sugzda tries to mobilize the supporters again.

"Both teams want to finish the round properly and we want to say goodbye to our many supporters in a sensible way.

This will be an exciting game!”

Sugzda: "There is no longer a question mark behind anyone"

He could say the same about his line-up due to the derby aftermath in Forstinning.

Drinos Gerguri (syndesmosis band), Marco Höferth (knee) and goalkeeper Fabio Di Palma (elbow) expand Baldham's injured list to currently 14 squad players.

"It won't be easy, especially since mentality and strength are dwindling.

But now it's also about gaining momentum for the next season," says the SCBV coach, who says he has already put together a comprehensive project plan for the entire football department, regardless of the league, which primarily focuses on internal club homogeneity and the promotion of young talent.

"We all screwed up this situation together," said Sugzda.

"But all the guys who stay have already given me their word to try everything to attack up front next year.

There is hardly a player who wants to leave, but we will part with a few, also because they have other plans.

There is no longer a question mark behind anyone.” JULIAN BETZL
