The Syrian judo team achieved the third place and the bronze medal in the teams competition in the International Peace Championship, which concluded today in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
In the tournament, in addition to the bronze teams, our team won four bronzes in individual competitions through players Suleiman Al-Rifai, Moamen Mahfoud, Muhammad Qassem and Muhammad Ghassan Haiba.
The first place in the teams championship went to the Iranian team, followed by the Iraqi team, and our team came third, while the Jordanian team came fourth, then Tunisia and Morocco.
It is noteworthy that our team participated in the International Peace Championship within its long training camp currently in Iraq in preparation for the Mediterranean Games scheduled in the Algerian city of Oran at the end of next June.
