Hand cyclist Amit Hassadi from the Tel Aviv Warrior House won a bronze medal today (Saturday) in the World Cup round in the road race held in Germany.
Hassadi, 38, who was seriously injured in 2002 in Qalqilya.
A bullet that hit the main artery in his neck, left him paralyzed on one side of the body, finished 44.4 km, in a time of 1: 31.05 hours. First place went to a Spanish competitor in a time of 1: 17.46 hours.
This achievement comes, having in recent races finished several times in fifth place (both on the road and against the clock), when he has now managed to get on the podium, with the main goal of reaching the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
Hasdai's coach is Meir Carmon.
The head of the delegation and assistant coach is Kobe Leon, himself a hand bike rider, who won the silver medal at the 2012 London Paralympic Games.
