Mountain biker Tanja Priller is practically in constant use.

At the "Eldorado Festival" the Penzberger achieved a top placement - because she acted tactically.

Penzberg – After crossing the finish line, Tanja Priller was one thing above all: incredulous.

The mountain biker from Penzberg had just won the race on the long route (88 kilometers/2060 meters in altitude) at the "Eldorado Bike & Run Festival".

And the 25-year-old also left Gloria Hänsel behind.

The Munich native (47) had won the overall standings in Angerberg, Austria (near Kufstein) in recent years and used to be at the forefront of numerous mountain bike marathons.

"I still can't quite believe that I can now drive in front of Gloria", Priller was surprised at himself.

Tanja Priller makes a decisive attack on the last mountain

The fact that she was able to compete for the day's win "did me good," reported the Penzberger.

In the previous races, the mountain biker had achieved good results, but she was denied the leap to the top of the podium.

The first half of the marathon in Angerberg "I rode relatively tactically and only invested what I had to do to stay up front," says Priller.

At the beginning of the last big climb she made the decisive attack.

The biker from the “Edelsten Hörhaus by MaD” team had a lead of more than 13 minutes to the finish, which she reached after 4:40:46 hours.

Third place went to an athlete who, like Priller, comes from the Weilheim-Schongau district: Daniela Höfler, who comes from Burggen and lives in Fläsch, Switzerland, crossed the finish line around 24 minutes after the winner.

Tanja Priller takes ninth place at the bike festival in Riva

A week before the "Eldorado" event, Priller started at the bike festival in Riva on Lake Garda, which is one of the classics of the scene.

The long-distance competition is included in the official list of the UCI, the world cycling association, and belongs to category one there.

At the end of the "Ronda Extrema" (83 kilometers/3484 meters in altitude), Priller took ninth place among 22 finishers with a time of 5:27:54 hours.

A purely German podium: At the "Eldorado Bike & Run Festival" near Kufstein, Tanja Priller (middle) from Penzberg won ahead of Gloria Hänsel (left) from Munich and Daniela Höfler, who comes from Burggen and has been in Switzerland for several years resides.

She was "very happy" about the result in a strong field, especially since the whole thing took place on a "very demanding course".

Two-time Olympian Adelheid Morath (4:50:46) from Titisee-Neustadt won the race.

Daniela Höfler also competed in Riva, she completed the "Ronda Grande" (60 kilometers/2406 meters in altitude) and finished second there (3:57:07).

Before the appearance at Lake Garda, Priller, who also belongs to RSC Wolfratshausen, concluded her appearances in Croatia (we reported) by taking part in the "4 Islands" race.

In this competition for teams of two, the participants completed a prologue and four stages, each day taking place on a different island.

Driving was on Krk, Rab, Cres and Losinj.

A total of 272 kilometers and 5900 meters of altitude had to be completed.

"I have seldom seen as many beautiful landscapes as there," reported the Penzberg resident.

"I think this will be my new favorite race."

Along with Austria's Anna Hofmann, Priller finished fifth in the all-women's teams out of 11 teams that reached the finish line.

The duo clocked a time of 14:49:20 hours, the gap to the places in front was clear.

The couple Lejla Tanovic (Bosnia-Herzegovina)/ Stefanie Dohrn (Germany) was happy about the victory with 13:13:54 hours.

Priller didn't push himself to the limit during the race, but that was enough to match Hofmann's pace.

Since the race is part of the World Series, the Penzberg resident has once again confirmed her already achieved World Championship qualification with her placement.
