Unbridled joy about the promotion to the national league: After the final whistle, the celebration of the Forstinninger began with the fans who had traveled with them.

VfB Forstinning is promoted to the Landesliga after a 3-0 win in Otterfing

Forstinning - It's done: With a 3-0 away win at TSV Otterfing, VfB Forstinning secured the championship title in the football district east and thus the first promotion in the club's history to the state league.

Forstinning will represent the district of Ebersberg in the Landesliga Südwest for the first time since TSV Moosach's one-year guest appearance in the 2017/18 season.

Under his coach Ivica Coric, the northern club completed a terrific season with just three defeats and 24 wins, the promoted team did not manage to share points.

The party started immediately after the final whistle

Immediately after the final whistle, the first festivities began on the Otterfingen football field, continued in the club's own sports home.

The official celebrations will take place on the last day of the game against SV Reichertsheim in front of their own audience and at the district cup final against SV Anzing on Thursday, May 26th (Ascension Day).

The district club, which is now the highest in the league, would like to achieve two more sporting goals: in the round of points, the tenth win in a row without conceding a goal and, of course, winning the cup.

The sporting story of the day is quickly told: The VfB Forstinning team did not fully build on the strong performances of the past few weeks and had a hard time against TSV Otterfing, who had already been relegated, especially in the first round.

Again and again the passes ended up in the top in the completely free space or straight out.

"After all, we made it difficult for VfB," said Otterfing's department head Dominik Urban, pleased about the functioning resistance after the last disastrous 0:9 against Siegsdorf.

And indeed, an extremely curious goal had to serve to guide the guests.

After a blocked free-kick cross, the leather ball was abandoned at the penalty spot.

When an Otterfinger defender made a very violent attempt to clear the ball, the force sent it over Bakary Touray's body and into the home team's net (30').

For Urban "a slapstick hit, like in the whole season".

Otherwise, a relapse into times that were actually believed to be in the past cost VfB a second goal in the first half: Captain Korbinian Hollerieth actually missed two big chances after preliminary work by Ivan Bacak and Kevin Becker.

VfB coach Coric didn't seem to agree with his players' ideas, and he had to intervene to correct them again and again.

But in the end, the victory remained undisputed.

"We didn't really have a chance to score," Urban had to admit.

Forstinning had everything under control - without shining.

Substitute Jonas Dirscherl missed a big chance in the middle of the second half, but Forstinning got serious again in the closing stages.

Touray headed in an ideal cross from Abdelilah Erraji from close range to make it 2-0 (83rd), the fair of the game was read.

The curiosity about this goal: Erraji used his right foot to cross.

And shortly before the end, Touray crowned his great day with a great solo to make it 3-0 (90th).

The rest: The traditional team circle immediately after the final whistle with a short speech by Coric, the presentation of the championship trophy by BFV representative Wolf-Peter Schulte and then: just cheering.

VfB Forstinning is a state league team for the first time.
