The 42nd athletes' award of the district of Ebersberg could finally take place again in full.
In addition to the athletes, there is also a lot of praise and thanks to all the volunteers.
Ebersberg – The traditional event on Friday evening in the old warehouse in Ebersberg didn't even begin to last as long as a soccer game.
Then the final whistle followed - and the cozy, unofficial part began.
The 42nd edition of the Ebersberg district's athletes' award is almost "normal" again - but not due to the postponement of the date," as BLSV district chairwoman Ingrid Golanski said in her welcoming speech to the slightly more than 100 guests, including Thomas Huber (Member of the Landtag ) and Ebersberg's mayor Ulrich Proske.
Due to the pandemic, the traditional award, which was otherwise held in February, was postponed to May.
However, due to Corona and the resulting lack of competitions, the number of honorees was also significantly lower than in 2020, when, shortly before the lockdown, more than double the 102 honors called up yesterday were due.

"Many championships at upper or southern Bavarian level were not offered.
Above all, we miss the shooters and swimmers today,” Golanski regretted.
With Gregor Bechold (TSV Hohenbrunn-Riemerling) and Luisa Rumler (SV Grafing-Ebersberg), however, two representatives of water sports - two German vintage champions and squad athletes - were represented.
From the sports shooters, Iris Buchmayer (Forstschützen Ebersberg) was awarded a medal and certificate for DMBronze with the small caliber team (Kerstin Fahl and Isabella Straub were excused) by host and District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß.
Many words of thanks to the athletes and volunteers "who are in the hall or on the field, but also the indirect volunteers who work behind the scenes" (Golanski) followed.
The ceremony was opened and closed by movement artists from Movimento Grafing.
