1860 coach Köllner hesitates with the yes word: "In the end, if I stay here, we have to move up"

With such pictures it is actually unthinkable that Michael Köllner is no longer the coach of TSV 1860 in the summer.

Does he stay or does he go?

Michael Köllner has not yet made a clear commitment to TSV 1860 for the coming season.

He puts pressure on the club management.

Munich – Michael Köllner had already completed two laps of honor when the ultimate challenge awaited the coach.

"Lions on the fence!", The 1860 fans, excited by the goal festival against Dortmund II, had demanded - so Köllner gave himself a push, ignoring a previous negative experience.

"You have to go up there, otherwise they'll go crazy," the fan manager said to him: "I said: I can't go up there, that's my death up there."

The good news: Köllner survived his fence scramble – how everything came together on Saturday to a small happy ending.

It was another emotional roller coaster ride that 15,000 Löwen fans and Köllner's team experienced on the last day of the game.

It was 6:3 in the end, but on the way to victory, which secured the minimum goal of DFB Cup participation, a few beers of despair were drunk.

“Today's game was another blast,” Köllner summarized the afternoon: “You're 2-0 up – at half-time it's suddenly 2-2.

Everybody thinks: Well, if they mess that up and lose fourth place... All the better then that we offered a spectacle afterwards.” Driven by third division top scorer Marcel Bär, who scored two goals and three assists in one contributed to a conciliatory end of the season.

Expectantly, the fans sang: "Berlin, Berlin, we're going to Berlin!"

At least there is a ticket with the lion logo in the pot when the first main round is drawn on June 11th.

"We messed it up in Aubstadt," Köllner recalled the disgrace on the easiest way to the DFB Cup.

"I would kick the TV if we weren't in the draw," said Köllner, who only gave one goal before kick-off: "We want to create Giesinger Pokal nights again."

It worked – and the fans thanked her in their own way.

Because the megaphone was on strike, you couldn't hear what Köllner called out to the west curve.

His statements had triggered loud cheers – and afterwards, after the first two or three beers on the lap of honour, the celebrated coach repeated his core message: “I said: We need a strong 60 Munich next year.

Nothing else counts, but we are on it – even if you have to push a little here and there.”

Again Köllner used the we form several times, also said that the work "here" will continue when he returns from his short trip to Malle (regardless of the team).

His promise: "For the same money, maybe even a bit cheaper, we'll start a team that can play for promotion." His counter-demand: strengthening the squad at the top and across the board.

Two additions are only certain, seven to eight should be there in the end.

He made it clear that Köllner tied his public yes word for the new season to reports of success from the transfer front - so that declarations of intent became reports of completion.

"You learn something in life," he said, recalling the failed transfer winter: "I can't say: it'll be fine.

And tomorrow, all of a sudden, no one is coming.

We're the second best team in the second half of the season behind a great team like Magdeburg.
