Löwen wrestle down Haunstetten 27:26, but are defeated in the second leg.

Anzing – With a defeat at TSV Haunstetten, the handball players of SV Anzing said goodbye to the season break.

However, the lions should be able to get over the 33:35 on Sunday evening in the last game of the Bayernliga playoffs.

On the one hand, the most successful season in the club's history lies behind them.

And on the other hand they offered their fans a spectacular handball festival the day before in their own hall – including a 27:26 victory.

"The team put up a great fight," commented team manager Günter Erber on the success in the last home game of the playoffs.

According to him, the lions remained playfully below their potential against the guests from Haunstetten.

Thanks to their tireless commitment and a strong morale, however, it was still enough to win in the end.

in the 40th minute, Anzinger turned up the heat

Right from the start, Anzinger had problems with an opponent "who kept making the game slow," said Erber.

In front of barely 200 spectators - the early summer weather apparently kept many away from the hall - the Löwen fell behind early on by 1:4.

As a result, Haunstetten was consistently in the lead, also because Anzinger made too many technical mistakes and tickets in the end.

Just as the first home fans were already threatening to lose faith in their team, they suddenly turned up the heat from the 40th minute.

From 4:20 p.m., the SVA only came close to 9:21 p.m. and a little later took the lead for the first time that evening.

The 24:23 was achieved by Jonathan Limbrunner, who was the most successful shooter on his team with nine goals.

Third win in the playoffs

However, the last goal of the game was reserved for Tobias Fehrenbach, who netted in the 58th minute to make it 27:26.

And because the Anzinger cover didn't let anything burn, the SVA-Löwen could celebrate their third win in these playoffs after the final siren.

It was similarly close the following day in the second leg – this time the offensive lines dominated on both sides.

Already at half-time the spectators in Haunstetten had seen a whopping 38 goals, 20 of which were scored by the home side.

After the break, the lively target shooting continued without the lions ever being able to catch up.

They were closest to a turnaround in the 54th minute when Tobias Fehrenbach converted a seven meter penalty to make it 31:32.

Now for a six-week break for dei Löwen

But unlike in the first leg the day before, the Anzinger defense presented itself too loose in the final phase, which is why it ultimately resulted in a 33:35 defeat.

The lions now have a six-week break before preparations for the new season begin on June 21.

SV Anzing - TSV Haunstetten 27:26 (11:15)

TSV Haunstetten - SV Anzing 35:33 (20:18)

SVA: Schleßiger, Scharder - J. Limbrunner (12), Fehrenbach (9/3), Hoxha (8/2), M. Limbrunner (7), Hawranek (6), Kiefel (6), Erber (4), Mayer (3), Bobach (3), Batzer (2), Krasniqi, Ehrenstorfer, Lechner.
