The Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics complete the Conference Finals and are in the third round of the NBA playoffs.

Both teams prevailed on Sunday (local time) in the decisive seventh game in the North American professional basketball league: the Mavs against the Phoenix Suns, the best team in the main round, the Celtics against defending champions Milwaukee Bucks.

With Celtics center Daniel Theis and Mavs power forward Maxi Kleber, two German national players made it into the semifinals.

The Mavs achieved a clear 123:90 (57:27) away win at the runners-up in Phoenix.

The Texans are in the Conference Finals in the west for the first time since 2011, when they won the title with Dirk Nowitzki.

The German basketball legend followed the runaway victory on the spot when the Mavs conceded just 27 points at the break and were already 30 points ahead.

Mavs star Luka Doncic had scored 27 points alone at halftime, in the end he had 35 points.

Kleber marked three points and blocked three throws.

The Mavericks will face the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

The first game will take place on Wednesday (local time) in San Francisco.

Celtics set NBA record for three-pointers

In the east, the Boston Celtics defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 109-80 (48-43) at home, knocking the defending champion out of the playoffs.

The Celtics were last in the Conference Finals in the 2019/20 season.

As a team, the hosts sunk 22 three-pointers — an NBA record for a seventh playoff game.

Grant Williams stood out – he was successful from the outside seven times.

Theis remained without points in six minutes, but got three rebounds and blocked two throws.

The Celtics will face off against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The series' kick-off meeting will take place on Tuesday (local time) in Miami.
