In August 2022, a major sporting event will take place in Munich with the European Championships.
300 participants measure their skills in gymnastics.
Munich – 50 years after the 1972 Olympic Games, the Bavarian state capital is once again experiencing an exceptional sporting event: the European Championships 2022. The teams and stars will determine their new European champions individually in a total of nine different sports.
There is also gymnastics for women and men as well as juniors.
European Championships: General information about gymnastics
Gymnastics is a sport with many disciplines to choose from.
This includes Olympic variants such as apparatus gymnastics, gymnastics on the trampoline and rhythmic gymnastics.
Also in the program are TeamGym, sports aerobics and sports acrobatics.
However, these three disciplines are not Olympic.
At the European Championships 2022, the athletes for artistic gymnastics are there.
The spectators can not only look forward to the established stars and teams of this sport, but can also admire the juniors and their talent.
Gymnastics demands a lot from the body.
The trick is to use gravity and leverage harmoniously in swing exercises to seamlessly transition into holds and perform powerful bodyweight shifts slowly and cleanly.

Gymnastics on apparatus is one of the oldest sports.
The discipline has been Olympic since the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.

European Championships Munich: Dates in gymnastics
The gymnastics competitions will take place as part of the European Championships in Munich along with eight other sports and will run from August 11 to 21, 2022. Spectators who want to cheer for specific teams or stars follow this schedule (as of January 17, 2022 , dates subject to change):
August 11, 2022, 10:00 a.m. – 7:55 p.m.: Qualification and final all-around women
August 12, 2022, 10:00 a.m. – 7:50 p.m.: Qualifications and finals all-around and team juniors
August 13, 2022, 2:00 p.m. – 3:40 p.m.: Final team women
August 14, 2022, 10:00 a.m. – 1:04 p.m.: Junior women’s apparatus gymnastics final
August 14, 2022, 2:30 p.m. – 5:21 p.m.: Women’s apparatus gymnastics final
August 15, 2022 – August 17, 2022: Break in gymnastics
August 18, 2022, 10:00 a.m. – 7:56 p.m.: Qualification and final all-around men
August 19, 2022, 10:00 a.m. – 8:20 p.m.: Qualifications and finals all-around and team juniors
August 20, 2022, 2:45 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.: Men’s team final
August 21, 2022, 9:45 a.m. – 11:58 a.m.: Junior apparatus gymnastics final

In the all-around competition, the all-rounders show their skills on all devices intended for their gender and the overall result counts.
European Championships Munich: Venue and Tickets
The gymnastics competitions take place in the Olympic Hall.
This is the largest venue for competitions at the European Championships 2022 in Munich.
There is room for up to 15,500 spectators and they can look forward to stars like Felix Remuta, the multiple German vaulting champion.
Tickets are available as single tickets for certain days and as combination tickets for several events.
Depending on the day of the competition and the seat, individual tickets cost between 20 and 90 euros.
The following applies: the closer fans want to be to the stars and teams, the higher the costs.
Season tickets can also be booked for all gymnastics competitions.
These are between 250 and 450 euros.
The package prices are cheaper if spectators only visit all the men's or women's competitions.
