Game manager confirms: Forst United will be promoted to the 3rd division - no matter how the games end at the weekend.

Ebersberg – After the verdict of the sports court from the previous week, there was a lot of uncertainty in the camp of the Bavarian league team TSV EBE Forst United.

The handball players from Ebersberg calculated all possible table constellations over the weekend - but the result was always the same: The ambitious club from the district town will finish the playoff round in second place - and thus move up to the 3rd division for the first time in its club history .

As Sabine Schreiner-Marr confirmed to the Ebersberger Zeitung on Tuesday, "Ebersberger's promotion is fixed, no matter how the games end next weekend".

The women's game warden of the Bavarian Handball Association (BHV), who is also the women's game director for the 3rd league at national level, had not yet sent an official message to the German Handball Association (DHB) "because we wanted to wait and see for the coming weekend to report the Bavarian champions to the DHB,” explained the 39-year-old.

This short email is "but only a purely pro forma thing" and does not change the fact that Forst United finished second.

Haunstetten lacks a license for the 3rd division

Because TSV Haunstetten did not apply for a license for the 3rd league by the registration deadline on Sunday midnight for its second women's team, which is leading the playoffs, Schreiner-Marr emphasized further that "Haunstetten II cannot be promoted".

It also doesn't matter if the first formation of the Augsburger Vorstädter, which is currently in the third division in the relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga, would make the leap into the 2nd division.

"TSV Haunstetten only registered its first team for games in the 3rd league, but not its second," emphasized the DHB game director.

And with that, the right of ascent goes to the runners-up in the playoffs, i.e. Ebersberg.

And Forst United have just applied for a license for the league at DHB level.

Felix Mäsel, team manager and female division manager at United, also heard the happy news from Schreiner-Marr by telephone.

He was relieved after he had waited in vain for an official message ("That's nicer").

It was all very opaque, said Mäsel, "since this court decision remains, the situation is actually getting a little better because it gives us a better lead over third place."

Entire table must be recalculated

Due to a previous wording error by the association (we reported), the table must now be recalculated with all the results from the preliminary round, which gives the Ebersberg women an unassailable distance to HSV Bergtheim.

The Ebersberg women had defeated their rivals from the northern district of Würzburg at the weekend away with 28:21 (14:8) goals and were able to afford a 27:29 defeat at home.

Due to the court ruling, the coaching duo Konstantin Schlosser/Julius Veihelmann rested a number of ailing players.

The important direct comparison would be on the side of the Forst Ladies in the event of a possible tie next Sunday.

"We are immensely proud and happy to be able to compete at national level," said Mäsel.

Everyone "worked hard for this goal and were carried by the sensational fans through a highly stressful playoff phase".

Now the internal preparations are underway for the first small promotion celebration on the final weekend of the playoffs and also the long-distance duel with TSV Haunstetten II for the Bavarian championship.

Ebersberg would have to win both games against MTV Stadeln (Saturday away, Sunday at home at 4.30 p.m.), the rival would lose both.

The ascent celebration follows a week later.
