When Werder Bremen celebrated their return to the Bundesliga with a 2-0 win over Jahn Regensburg on Sunday, thousands of Werder fans flocked to the pitch.
Some players also got lost in the crowd and got carried away.
Werder striker Niclas Füllkrug, as it now shows, maybe a little too much: The control committee of the German Football Association has initiated investigations against the Bremen professional.
This was confirmed by the DFB at the request of the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung".
After the final whistle, Füllkrug went to the fans in the east stand of the Weser Stadium and waved a red pyrotechnic flare there.
This is proven by television pictures of the celebrations.
Curious interview by Füllkrug
In an interview that Niclas Füllkrug later conducted with ARD, he denied the incident.
An ARD journalist confronted him: "I saw pictures with pyrotechnics in my hand."
With 19 goals this season in the second Bundesliga, Füllkrug played a significant part in Bremen's success this season.
The DFB recently imposed fines of several tens of thousands of euros on several clubs for burning pyrotechnics.
