On the last district league match day, Fortuna Penzberg and Frischauf Weilheim fought in a long-distance duel for the runner-up title.

Above all, the Weilheimer needed good nerves.

District – There was no surprise on the last day of the district league.

In the fight for the vice title behind champion FC Seeshaupt, the sports bowlers from Fortuna Penzberg defended second place against Frischauf Weilheim.

Both teams won in the end.

Frischauf Weilheim wins thanks to two wood more

The Weilheimers ended the season with a hard-fought 5:3 win (3158:3156 wood) at home against SV Aschau.

In the end, two woods tipped the scales in favor of Weilheimer, who thus completed the second half of the season without defeat.

In the starting pairs, Christian Lindner (534 wood/3:1 sets) secured the team point in his duel with Alois Schnelzer (492) after just three rounds.

Meanwhile, Thomas Sepp (527/1:3) lost to the best Aschauer that day, Florian Graml (555).

In the middle pairings, Stefan Schwinghammer (489/1:3) had problems hitting the “lanes” (i.e. between the foremost cone and the cone next to it).

In a duel with Michael Mies (544), he clearly lost out.

Karlheinz Kölsch (496/2:2) won the first two sets.

After that, things didn't go according to plan for him, and he promptly lost to Thomas Langrieder (544).

The final couple from Weilheim had to catch up after a 1:3 and a deficit of 89 wood.

The difference grew to 106 wood in the first set.

"Actually, the game was already lost at that point, but you should never give up too early," said freshman Kölsch.

Dominik Schütz (560/3:1) – in the second set with 160 wood – and Florian Königbaur (552/3:1) turned things around against Leon Kutschera (502) and Alexander Seibert (519).

Fortuna Penzberg achieves clear victory

The Penzberg team's last appearance of the season was convincing: the team won against SKC Oberau 7:1 (3008:2570 wood) on the Murnau tracks, which were difficult to play on.

Ivo Juric (494 wood/1:3 sets) lost his duel, but only lost three wood to his opponent.

In contrast, Aydin Coban (498/3:1) made up 47 wood in his win.

In the middle pairings, Zivko Labor (499/2:2) won by a hair's breadth against Florian Brück (497).

The opponent of Markus Jung (509/4:0), Christian Steinbrecher (187), had to give up in the second set - that decided the game.

Julian Kral (485/2:2) and Konrad Stremair (523/3:1) still won against Manuel Dukowsky (476) and Alexander Leupold (462).
