Al-Wahda team opened the semi-finals of the Final Four of the Men's Basketball League today by defeating Al-Karama with a score of 75-82 points in the match that took place in Al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
The first quarter ended with Al Karama leading by 13-19 points, while Al Wahda outperformed in the second quarter 15-21 points, and the first half ended with a tie 34-34 points.
In the third quarter, Al-Wehda advanced by 24-23 points. It also outperformed again in the fourth quarter with 18-24 points, to decide the outcome of the match in its favour, with a score of 75-82 points.
The two teams meet again next Friday in the same hall in the second match, while the third match for them of this round will be on the twenty-sixth of this month in Homs, where the playing system in this round stipulates that the teams play together to win three matches out of five to qualify for Final round.
In the second confrontation of the semi-finals, Al-Ittihad will meet Al-Jalaa three times on the twenty-second, twenty-fourth and thirty-fourth of this month at Al-Hamdaniya Hall in Aleppo.
It is noteworthy that the Final Four competitions will be held this season, according to new amendments, as the Basketball Association allowed first-class clubs to contract with a foreign player and an Arab player, in addition to the presence of an external arbitration staff.
