Uli Hoeneß thinks it's exaggerated how frenetically VfB Stuttgart celebrated last-minute relegation.

The Swabian counterattack has it all.

Munich – After a long break, Uli Hoeneß delivered enough verbal material on the day of Bayern's championship celebrations to easily fill the nation's newspapers for a week.

The honorary president mercilessly settled accounts with Niklas Süle and commented on the changing theater around Robert Lewandowski.

The Bundesliga competition also had to put up with side blows: Hoeneß smugly predicted a “safe second place” for Borussia Dortmund in the coming season.

VfB Stuttgart also got its fat off.

“In Stuttgart they think they won the world championship.

They just didn't dismount."

FC Bayern: Uli Hoeneß etches against VfB Stuttgart - Schwaben etches back

The Swabians secured direct relegation in a crazy long-distance duel with Berlin's Hertha at the very last minute.

As a result, all dams broke in the Mercedes-Benz Arena, with fans rushing onto the pitch in pure ecstasy, certainly in large part due to the crazy circumstances.

Born and raised in Ulm, Hoeneß is shooting against his own Swabian flesh and blood.

Of course, the saying was not well received.

VfB boss Alexander Wehrle promptly launched a counterattack: "If you see the emotions at Bayern's celebrations, you think they've just finished tenth - and not champion for the tenth time," he is quoted as saying by the

FC Bayern: There is little enthusiasm about championship titles

If there were a judge in such a case, Wehrle would probably have a point for this counterattack.

The championship celebrations on the balcony of Munich City Hall were quite humorous, and the Marienplatz was full - but if you compare the pictures with those from Stuttgart, the excitement about Julian Nagelsmann's first championship title at FC Bayern is limited.

Also because of the messed up end of the season.

Although the tenth championship in a row remains a remarkable achievement and one of a kind in the top European leagues, the feeling of triumph is naturally not as great after the tenth title as it was the first time.

Also because the bowl comes alone this year and is not accompanied by other trophies.

Therefore, a total upheaval is imminent.
