Gibbs, a native of Washington, played football at the University of Kansas from 2015 to 2019 and defended the team goal in two NCAA tournaments during those four years.

Coach Mark Francis said: "We are heartbroken following the tragic loss of Reagan. She was a great teammate and a young woman who influenced many during her days here in Kansas. We will always remember the impact she had, on and off the field."
The members began raising money for the mother and Reagan's four younger sisters who are unable to afford to return the body home to Washington and hold the funeral, and their statement read: "Tuesday morning, Reagan's mother received a phone call that no parent expects to receive. Police informed her her daughter was murdered. "She was only 25 years old, a beautiful and heartfelt girl who loved people and Jesus. She was very sensitive to the homeless and she hoped to return to school to be a volunteer for volunteer doctors."
