There are further personnel decisions at EA Schongau: Two veterans in defense remain with the Bavarian league.

A striker, on the other hand, is about to jump off.

Schongau – The Bavarian league ice hockey club EA Schongau has announced some other personnel decisions.

So Leo Zink and Mathias Schuster remain true to the "Mammuts" - the players are pillars in defense.

"Both have an extremely high bond with the club," explains team manager Martin Resch.

The 29-year-old zinc returned to Lech from Peißenberg two years ago.

Before that, the defender played 236 league games in Peiting, Essen and Leipzig.

In the Bayernliga, 75 appearances were added afterwards.

With Schuster, EAS can also rely on an experienced man.

The robust defender, who spent his entire career in Schongau with the exception of four years in Pfaffenhofen, is 34 years old and is therefore one of the oldest players in the squad.

"The league is getting stronger, so it's all the more important to keep top performers like Zink and Schuster," says Resch.

The "mammoths" will probably have to say goodbye to one striker.

Kevin Steiner is on the wish list for EV Füssen.

However, the change of the 22-year-old attacker to the upper division is not yet fixed.

"Kevin still has to complete a try-out," reports Resch, who also sees his own work confirmed by the EVF's request.

"Our goal is to make local players better and develop them further.

We managed to do that with Kevin,” says Resch.

One of the most experienced in the team: Mathias Schuster (34) is a fixture at EA Schongau.

According to the team manager, the cooperation between the “Mammuts” and EV Füssen will continue in the coming season.

"It went well for both clubs last season," says Resch, who has already made an appointment for a test match with the top division club.

On September 18th, the Schongauer will be guests in Füssen.

In the Bavarian league, there will be 15 clubs next season, as champions Klostersee dare to make the leap into the premier league.

In return, EV Pegnitz comes from the state league.

"Not necessarily a dream club," says Resch, looking at the long journeys to the Franconian open-air stadium.

"Nevertheless, the Bayernliga remains an extremely attractive league," says Resch, looking at the competition.

"Our goal will again be to achieve maximum success with small means." In the past season we managed to do this with third place after the preliminary round and fifth place in the promotion round.
