The European IQ Foil Surfing Championship, held in Italy, continues today (Thursday) to be close and tense on the third day of the cruise, with a crowded top in both men and women.
Cruise Day opens with two track cruises, followed by a marathon cruise.
The marathon is a very long cruise, about 40 minutes long, the result of which is especially important, since it is worth a double score.
After an unsuccessful start to the day, with disqualification in one cruise and 27th place in the other, Shahar Tibi won the marathon with an important victory.
This result helped her stay in sixth place overall in the competition, 32 points away from the leader, and strong in the picture cruise medals.
Over the weekend, two more cruise days are expected, which will determine which of the women will be among the top 10 to advance to the podium battle on Sunday.
Sharon Kantor (12th place) and Daniela Peleg (13) continue the trend of improvement throughout the competition and climbed up the rankings today, while Shahar Reshef (21) and Maya Morris (24) weaken.
In men, Yoav Omar, who enjoyed an excellent day of cruising yesterday, dropped from sixth place to 11th after two weak first cruises.
Two more male team members are in the top ten.
Tom Reuben won the first cruise of the day and climbed to 15th place overall, and Tomer Vardimon (17) also advanced 11 places compared to yesterday.
Both should close the gap from tenth place in the next two days.
