Roland-Garros draw: Djokovic, Nadal and Alcaraz in the same half of the table

Quentin Fillon Maillet, five-time Olympic medalist in biathlon at the Beijing Olympics, had a heavy hand during the draw for the main draw at Roland-Garros.

He put Novak Djokovic, the world number one and defending champion in the same half of the table as two Spaniards and not the least: Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz.

In other words, the three favorites of the tournament will not be able to face each other in the final!

Djokovic could face Nadal, thirteen times winner of the Parisian Grand Slam, in the quarter-finals.

And the winner of this duel which promises to be sumptuous would potentially meet Alcaraz, at the gates of the top 5 at 19, in the semi-finals.

The other potential quarter-finals could oppose, if the logic is respected which is not always the case Porte d'Auteuil, Alcaraz to the German Zverev, the Greek Stéfanos Tsitsipás to the Norwegian Casper Ruud and the Russian Andrey Rublev to his compatriot Daniil Medvedev.

French people not spoiled

The French, none of whom are seeded for the first time in the 21st century, have obviously not been spared.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who will end his career during this fortnight, could (should?) play his last match against the Norwegian Casper Ruud, world number eight.

Richard Gasquet will have to wrestle with the South African Lloyd Harris.

Another complicated task, that which will await veteran Gilles Simon: a devious Spaniard, Pablo Carreño Busta, who is ranked 16th in the world.

Another seed, the American John Isner will present himself in front of the young Quentin Hély.

As for Hugo Gaston, the French revelation of the 2020 edition, he will also have a seed on the other side of the net, the Australian Alex de Minaur (19th in the world).
