Eintracht Frankfurt made history with the triumph in the Europa League.

The Hessians are thus advancing into completely new spheres.

Frankfurt/Sevilla – The 2022 Europa League winner is called Eintracht Frankfurt.

In a gripping final in Seville, the Hessians ultimately prevailed on penalties against Glasgow Rangers.

All Frankfurt shooters converted from the point - Kevin Trapp was able to parry a shot.

Captain Sebastian Rode was finally allowed to stretch the European Cup into the Andalusian sky.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Champions League and Supercup in the coming season

With the Europa League triumph, Eintracht secured their ticket for the coming Champions League season – for the first time in the club's history.

This means that a total of five German teams will compete in the top flight next season: Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.

In the draw for the group phase, the Hessians are seeded in pot 1 as Europa League winners.

As a result, they escape the absolute top teams such as Real Madrid or possibly Liverpool FC for the time being.

Eintracht Frankfurt will still be able to play against one of these two teams in Helsinki on August 10th: in the UEFA Super Cup.

There the Europa League winner meets the winner of the Champions League.

The Reds around cult trainer Jürgen Klopp and the royals from the Spanish capital will fight for the title on May 28 in Paris.

Eintracht Frankfurt: "There will be no hara-kiri" - mega party expected at the Römer

Eintracht President Peter Fischer announced no wild things on the transfer market, despite the new opportunities arising from the Europa League triumph and the additional premier class millions.

"We're not going big now because we qualified for the Champions League once," emphasized the 66-year-old.
